Velvet June biography

Velvet June is an attractive band.
Not only because the vocalist sings from the ups and downs of life with a voice as soft as velvet and sparkling eyes.
Not only because the musicians on bass, guitar and drums rock in a delighting authentic way.
And not only because the four of them love to surprise their fans with little treats.

Velvet June simply has a good sense for melodies and for exceptional songs full of feelings and melancholy. Rhythmical challenging arrangements combined with sometimes dreamy, sometimes rich guitar sounds give the whole the right doses of Rock. Just as emotionally turbulent as the music are the band's lyrics. At times moaning, at times with a blink of an eye the words draw their own picture of dream and reality.

"Too bad this story's just a mad tale
that I sometimes wish could be real
to cease all emptiness
all the sad sad happiness"

The first studio album from Velvet June was released in 2004: "One day in June" Numerous online magazines did not let pass by the release without giving many positive reviews and reassuring the band in its work.

In spring 2005 the musicians were nominated to take part at the master class "PopCamp Meisterkurs" of the Deutsche Musikrat by overwhelmingly standing out against numerous other nominated bands from all over Germany. Throughout the 3 intensive training phases of the master class and with the support of professionals Velvet June had the opportunity to work on musical details and to gain first hand knowledge about the music industry.

Velvet June also chalked up successes abroad. In March 2005 they were invited to the "VenerElettrica International Female Rock Festival" in Italy and were honoured with the award "Best Band". In March 2006 Velvet June musically represented Germany at the education fair "Education 2006" in Greece.

Besides from further live performances in their home town Frankfurt Velvet June is currently working on a new album.
